Blade & Soul - Most Anticipated MMORPG 2009

The most anticipated Korean MMORPG will be developed by NCSoft, the same team that developed Lineage II. If you noticed, the character design was done by the famous Korean illustrator Hyung Tae Kim. He did the character design for Magna Carta - Tears of Blood for PS2 platform too... great game.. Yay!!! I'm a fan of his works and I bought Oxide2x for my personal eye feast ;P. Oh well, putting the giant boobs and my ramblings aside, this is a really cool martial art battle style game and the story developed as you play . In other words things will evolved with the progress of the story, not like most typical MMORPG.

If you think this is a hentai.. ecchi.. perverted kinda game you are WRONG!! HTK just happens to like drawing giant boobs and... x3 hahaha.... ehm.. seriously it's not, sorry to disappoint you perky pervs! According to HTK himself, some of the characters have been deleted because

"the CEO says the charaters wear too little"

Apart from the super cool kungfu, flying skills (qinggong) are applied as well, and there is no race limitation. Will this game be well accepted in European market? Don't know, maybe... Asian? Definitely!!! Yeah!

BnS is set in an oriental fantasy world and will use Unreal Engine 3. When will this game be ready? Only God knows... great game takes longer time to be developed so be patient. Anyway, the minimum spec for this game are as follow:

Destiny Online (Open Beta) - MMORPG

Hi! It's now time for the MMO review. Today I'm gonna write about another F2P Destiny Online aka Legend of Golden Plume. At first glimpse Destiny Online might appear like a "kiddie" game, cute graphic, cute character/monster/map/item design etc. Most often a game like this will received harsh comments by gamers who thinks its solely aiming asian/kids/girls market yadayadayada...

I dare not write a review without testing the game myself. Originally this game was open for players under the name Legend of Golden Plume, however beginning Jan 13 this year it is now ready for Open Beta under a new name, Destiny Online. At the same time it is launching a new server "Penguin" for new players, there are 6 character slots available and 5 different classes to choose from; warrior, swordsman, priest, mage and taoist. Besides catching pet and get cool mounts, this game also support the master-apperentice and marriage system. It is pretty easy to catch pets in this game, you can catch it using the fairy rope from quests or buy from the npc trader in game.

You can catch almost all kind of monster however you will not be able to summon it to fight along with you if your level are lower than the pet itself.

You can also rename your monster, feed and customize the pet stat points according to your liking. I heard rumours that there are a special pet called "babes" that have special skills. I haven't seen one so I can't confirm on it.

If you get bored training or collecting items, there also IQ games you can participate where you answer some general questions. The top ten in rank will receives in game gifts.

There are This game also offers fierce PK and Tribal War. You can choose to join any tribe when you reach lvl 10, or form your own when you reach lvl 40. Wonderland – Cute Manga Style F2P MMORPG =)

Okay people.. Wonderland is a cute F2P manga styled MMORPG that have something different to offer. You know how you always wish that you have your own private home in the virtual world, that you can decorate when you are not out there training? Come on, I know I did… When you started, you will be on board a holiday cruise. It’s fated that the ship will hit an iceberg and sank, you will be thrown overboard and washed ashore. When you woke up a bearded blond man Crusoe… oh yes.. the famous hermit.. He will give you a raft and told you to go to the neighbouring island, which you should.. you would wonder why he wouldn’t go there himself but he said it’s too crowded……

What’s cool in this game =)

Catch / adopt a pet or NPC to be in your group and help you train. You can keep four pets / NPC in your group, it will follow and fight along with you as long as you keep its amity points above 20, below that and it will run away. You can also choose to ride your pet =) You can also adopt4 different choice of pet from Evru the NPC in Welling Village if you answer her questions correctly, click on the treasure box and she will ask you more questions if you answered correctly you get a blue print design of a boat.

Remember, your pet and NPC friend will run away if you have their amity point below 20, make sure you don’t let them die too many times.

Oh yes… You can choose to ride the NPC as if you want as long as you have them in your group =P

You can recruit an NPC Niss (Maiden outside Kelan Village) to be in your group, and NPC Xoalan by doing quest, and NPC Monkey at Starter Beach. However the monkey will leave your group when you found it’s family.

You will need to gather this item before you can make anything. Some items are gathered using daily life skills while you can get the rest from fighting with monster.

You can customize your house by building furniture the way you like it, well actually the furniture look the same like everyone else but you can arrange and decorate it the way you want it. You also have daily life skills such as fishing, cutting etc. If you work real hard you can get yourself a car

Beginners Quest

There are several quests that you need to do to help you begins your journey in Wonderland and here are some that I think most important. When you arrived at the starter beach, head to Kelan Village.

• Get the Tent

  Head to the Astrologer house that’s located at X: 1772 Y:2035 .After talking with the old lady, a short movie will triggered as you leave. She will tell you that you are not from their time and give you a tent. This tent will be your home and essential training boost. You can make house furniture and stuff that will boost your training experience and quests. I recommend making bathtub, it will help generate your HP and SP points faster than sitting

• Get the weapon of your choice

  Head to the Kelan Village Leader house at location X: 1582 Y: 1535 . He will tell you to find a scroll in a nearby cave that is located at X: 2262 Y: 455 , you will pass by two rabbit, go up the stairs and you’ll find the cave entrance. You gonna have to fight a giant lizard (pretty easy but I recommend you get yourself a party just in case.

• Remote Control

  Head to Welling Village and talk to the aunt that's cooking between the row of houses. She will asked you to fetch some cooking ingredients from the Fruit Grower, that is the old man standing beside the grape farm near the entrance. Remote Control is a bot that you can set so your character will auto attack monster and heal itself using items in your bag. So if you don’t feel like training manually you can set up the remote and let your window open.

Aurora Blade - Free Browser-Based MMORPG

Well MMORPG lovers, guess what... there's a new game that you might want to try out... It's not that new but considering it has just been launch about two or three months ago it is still quite new. Great news is you don't have to spend the looooong hours waiting for a client to finish downloading and have half of your hardisk space taken, which is probably filled with numbers of MMO games you've downloaded before and refuse to let go tho it's been like the last you log in was six months agooo... Now Aurora Blade is browser-based MMORPG so no installing required.

You only need to register with IGG if you don't already have an account and it's free.. Click the images above to go to the site. Unlike all those other browser-based games that you have to spend a lot of your times just... watching.. waiting... for it to develop into a city, collecting materials, etc yada yada *sigh* this one I'm gladly say is not. I'm not saying it's not fun watching things grow... but in Aurora Blade you are actually more in control unless of coz u wanna do nothing but chat, or go idle and afking... afking.... for the love of GOD if you don't wanna do anything LOG OUT!

You can either choose to chat with another player by clicking the (...) bubble or attack him / her by clicking the sword icon.

You actually got to see your character in action... See I'm casting fireball spell.. ;)

When you create an account you are given 5 slots for characters, since this game is quite new there is only one server, MERCURY... and currently there is only one race available at the moment, however there are 4 different class for you to choose from. Unfortunately besides selecting your gender you still can't customize your character looks, if you wanna be a priest you are stuck with the green hair. I'm not saying it's ugly but it would be a lot nicer if we have a few different colors and style right?

Character Class /Job Description

Warrior

Warriors excel at melee attacks and utilize various melee weapons to fight enemies. Protected by thick armor, they can resist a lot of physical damage in battle. Warriors can choose advanced weapons in the later period of the game and show off their powerful abilities.

Priest

Priests are known for the power of their holy spells of healing. Even young priests can heal the dying while older, more experienced priests are able to revive the dead. Kind-hearted priests always protect other players and fight for justice, while evil priests seek destruction and chaos.

Mage

Mages wield spell magic against their enemies. These distance based attacks assure that the mages aren't directly in the battle. The restrictions of spell magic mean mages are unable to protect themselves with thick armor. However, as mages grow in power they eventually will choose an expertise and become very strong later on.

Knight (or izzit Hunter?? **rolleyes** they look like hunter to me >.<)

I personaly think the job / class description fits the Hunter type since this job equipt bow or something similar, plus they do range melee attack. Probably some mistake in the name there but what do I know... I'm not the developer. Knights travel around the world constantly. They roam the countryside taking the battle to the monsters. They are their own one man army, 'Masters' of their destiny. They usually start with a ranged attack to soften up their target, and then move in for a melee finish. They will not run from any battle or foe, though they strongly distrust and fear magic.

Now the graphic may not be state of the art but it's cute, kinda reminds me of a certain famous Korean MMORPG a lot... ahemm... some of the icons are disturbingly SIMILAR as if it's been RECYCLED and RENAMED. Like I said, this game is pretty new so give it some time.. I'm sure they are working on it right now.. =)

When you are in a certain location you will meet NPC that offers you different kind of services like trading, quests etc.

In AB (Aurora Balde) you can customize your character's build, if you are a Mage I suggest you pump on INT.. duh! It's the basic stuff I'm sure you all know that. You can maxed you weapon at the blacksmith, buy new dresses (armor), etc.. all the basic amenities you commonly find in a MMO world. Got tired hitting monsters but don't want to attack other players? Go do a quest, there are lots of quests available and you'll be rewarded with items and exp. You can form a team or join a guild, go to the arena and battle to get fame or form a relationship with another player and get married.

You will get status points everytime you leveled up, use it wisely that best benefit your character type.

For a browser-based game Aurora Blade have a lot to offer. If you don't know what to do at first, there's an online help or you can ask me. This game is pretty basic so I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. So what are you waiting for, try Aurora Blade today!!! <<-- sound like a cheesy commercial lmao..

Dream of Mirror Online - Part 2 The Flying Frog Quest

As I have promised in my previous post, I'm gonna share my journey in this virtual world. After training hard (mostly doing quests to gain experience points) I finally reached level 15. I even came across my supposedly destined lover in town and while training on the plains. Once I met 3 of them in one map ROFL (roll on the floor laughing!!!)

As soon as I reached lvl 15, Chasm King appears before me with a new task, learn how to fly!!! This excites me, I'm getting tired travelling at low speed and following the same path around the hill bores me.

The first thing I did was to head to Swan Lake Basin to defeat the Flying Frog King, I was lucky when I got there two players wanting to do the same quest are waiting to form a quest party. I called upon my Teacher who helped us defeat the FFK easily. As soon as it was defeated I gain a flying powder that I need. Brought it to Randy Charleston in Eversun City and learn the skill. It is now available on my everyday skill window, amongst other daily skills such as fishing, mining, herding, making weapon, alchemy etc. but most importantly now I CAN FLY!

Defeating Flying Frog King Quest

Ah! Talk to Randy Charleston again! He told me he once fancy a flying fairy. He stole her magic shoes when she was bathing in a river so she could never return to Heaven and be with him on earth forever =.=". The fairy was furious of coz, even after he return the shoe she refused to talk to him but flying around Eversun City air. "Please" he said, please tell her I'm sorry and I really wish she could be with me forever. So using my flying skill, I try to find the fairy. My first attempt at flying really makes me dizzy but I manage to find her real fast with the help of my Teacher.

When I finally found her, she tells another story. According to her, she is not a heavenly being as Randy Charleston think she is. She is just another human being, but how did she gain the ability to fly? Certainly she didn't kill any Flying Frog King. Once, she saw a handsome heavenly being taking a bath in a nearby river. He was so handsome she fell in love right away, she wanted him to be with her forever so she stole his shoe. Unfortunately the heavenly man doesn't know how to swim and died drowning. Amused, I ask her why she didn't accept Randy's love? Her answer was alot simpler!! Check the picture below and you'll understand.

The flying fairy aka shoe stealer sure have high expectation, maybe coz she's so high up the sky? Lol

Dream of Mirror Online - part 1

Dream of Mirror Online or aka DOMO amongst the player is now availabe in open Beta for English version, brought by Aeria Games. I have played so many mmorpg before and currently I'm hook to DOMO. What I love about DOMO is player are able to exchange jobs any time after reaching lvl 10, without having to build a second character like most mmorpg I've played. Currently it is only offering 2 characters slot. I can simply go to the Career Advisor NPC and do a job change at the Dojo in Eversun City or any other city. So whenever I got bored playing Shaman (that's my main job), i just change into a Doctor or Dancer. Currently there are 13 jobs availabe. Another job I'm looking foward to try is Witch Doctor. It is currently unavailable. When I got bored with training, I do fun quests. Finishing quest rewards not only experience and fame, but equipments and miscellaneous tools as well. There are some quest limitation though, to my greatest regret the pet quest, it is only available in Japan and Korea. What i love most about DOMO is the ability to equip skills and weapon from other job that you have learn. In my case, playing Shaman requires alot of mana points (MP) and sometimes when I'm out of MP and attack points (yes you can accumulate attack points and strike a special blow, the more you accumulate, the higher the damage!!), and when it's lagging >.< (my inet is bad plus I'm playing on US server and I'm from the other side of the world... sigh. Maybe I should play DOMO Indo version but I have problem understanding most of the language.. sigh again!!! XXXXXP), the monster caught up with me and I get damage. This is when Doctor's Regeneration skills are important. Take note however, using secondary weapon doesn't give the 100% damage as using your main weapon!

I've become a full fledged Shaman after taking the qualification quest ^^

When I first started, a series of question was given. This determined of your social status in the game. You will be able to develop 3 types of relationship, Teacher and Student, Friends, and Lover. You can develop this relationship by appointing another player to be a Teacher or Student, Friends or Lover at the NPC. I've met a player who was very helpful to me so I appoint him as a teacher, the relationship level may be increased by paying Dreamstone which is drop by monster randomly. I've learn that playing together with you teacher, student, lover or friends.. anyone that you have a high level relationship will give a bonus attack or buff. However, some of the relationship are predestined depending on your birth date and Chinese zodiac sign, you'll be connected to a certain players by fate. I've met a relative and rival online. As for the destined lover, you will be able to find out pretty fast as you are abviously connected by a thin red line. Of coz, it only make things awkward to most player and choose to pay no attention to it, the same goes to me. Never really talk to my supposedly destined lover. So even if you meet one, nothing will happen without initiative!!

I've appoint another player to be my teacher, using action skill (advanced emo) to show my appreciation..rofl

How much is the game fee? no worry it is free ^^. The only thing that I regret is not able to play all the different races offered. Yes, there are four races, Human, Slyph, Shura and Sprite.
